Jerry Uelsmann and Maggie Taylor have made distinguished careers out of manipulating images: he's an old-school darkroom guy, while she's embraced the computer. For this challenge, they provided ten images for you to remix into an original composition.
The World Within
I chose 3 of the provided images for this composition. I wanted to create a world within a world, hence the occulus dandelion image from my personal archives. I pulled all of the images into ipiccy, added a light texture and inverted the image to create the silhouettes.

My image was inspired by surrealism and flowed from there. I have always loved the way that the surrealist artists worked with collage and juxtaposing seemingly unrelated images.

"The Wind Doth Blow" This was inspired by the weather we are having here!
Lee
I chose the low hanging fruit arraigning it in a bowl with photoshop
Mason
This is a second attempt. It was done with Photoshop Elements and used a picture by Chardin. I assume it is "fair use." The car is my one picture.
Terry McKenna
Just the images provided by you and a lot of masks. Some more ideas coming on the same subject... have to try them on

About 25 years ago, I shot this photo of my daughter to use a reference for a painting of a girl spinning the planet Saturn on her finger. I considered perching the butterfly here, but, nah, too cheerful! I like the spooky vibe of the blackbird in the woods.
Carol
Inspired by the play DREAMLANDIA by Octavio Solis.

Enjoyed the show tonight. I hacked it together with powerpoint.

Pathways can take you on an inward journey, an outward journey or both.

I used Photoshop layers to combine the guitar with two of my images… a nightscape of San Diego and a moon as part of the guitar. I also added a reflection. The cityscape reminded me of some quiet guitar music by jazz musician, Kevin Robinson.

Using Photoshop layers, I combined the hand and butterfly with an image of mine of glass shards. The hand was blended with the glass but the butterfly remains “pure.” I also like the way the pattern on the wing tips works with the glass pattern.

This composition was created using the following:
Hardware: scissors, the back of an old sketchpad, a second hand Canon Camera
Software: iphoto, powerpoint
The title is "4 leaves." 4 leaves were used in each composition, 4 compositions were created and juxtaposed. Components for the compositions were cut out and assembled and then reassembled - there is no physical permanence - each composition was captured in the eye of the camera and the four results were then assembled digitally.

Often I see things not as they are, but as they might be. My original image is of plants in a friend's San Diego yard. When I took that photo, I saw abstract shapes and colors so I used the Photoshop cutout filter. I combined that with a cutout treatment of the butterfly. I rarely use Photoshop filters but this one called out for this one because it was how I saw the image.

The wooded path first drew me in and then the butterfly. It reminds me of a butterfly that accompanied me on a walk in a nearby park while I was writing poetry in my head. When I walk, kinetic energy turns into creative energy and my imagination runs wild. I used all the images in one form or another because this is exactly what happens in my head. See if you can spot all the images in this photo remix.
