Jerry Uelsmann and Maggie Taylor have made distinguished careers out of manipulating images: he's an old-school darkroom guy, while she's embraced the computer. For this challenge, they provided ten images for you to remix into an original composition.
Since January I have some images in my mind about a ladder leading to nowhere. I finally found and shoot in June the ladder that pursued me for so long time. Its all about going to somewhere that is not the way you imagine it.
Like it's said, if you don't know where are you going then it's not important which path you take and it can take you everywhere.

“Mapping the Unnamed Sitter, 2012” Thank you to the folks at the Studio 360 Blog for creating such a stimulating, interactive web event. “When you have new art in the making….suddenly the world seems more exciting and there are things to look forward to”………catherine-de-barra.tumblr.com

Mutti Playing the Guitar
A painting I made of my grandmother to which I added the guitar image and manipulated it over the painted image.
Scott
I simply added the crow image to one of my own paintings. (the original can be seen at LeDanse.com)

Loved the radio piece and thank you for these images. I enjoyed this very much.

The beauty of Photoshop is that there are endless options. I probably used all of the elements in the folder, but began to get blinded by all of the possibilities. hence, here is the finished product. Thanks for putting up these images for the public to use.

I used 5 of the provided images and 2 of my own. In the center is a patch of dead stick-like trees from Quabbin Res in Western Mass, where beavers had damned up the water supply. There are strong shadows on my back in the picture of me walking down a path in Newport RI. The composition makes me think about death, the journey from the living to the afterlife.

I tried to start with some emotions--mystery and love of light and shadow. I picked pieces I liked and combined. I tried hard to get the shadows right--side front lighting on objects dictated by the hand emerging from the ground and left side-lighting in background. I liked the butterfly with the crow pattern in the wings.

Whenever I see an old photograph of a person, I always wonder what is the telling behind that story. For this I found a love story that travels from that initial feeling you have when you first find it, all the way to it's demise. All with the premise that those feelings never disappear.

Not much to report here. I just wanted to do something that is nonsensical.
Binh
It's an illustration for a scribble I made.

This image is about the power of nature and music to move the human heart and soul.

Just a quick and simple composition with no huge changes. More arms for the girl, the crow added and masked, the leaf overlaid and masked, and that is about it!
Robert
This is a relatively simple and quick composition. My main objective was to take the photo of the girl in the white dress and give her a surrealistic aspect, and what better way to do that than give her more arms? From there, I used the hand photo to create some variety in posing. The cro on the hand was an additional effect thrown in for some flavor, and the background is from the leaf photograph that I simply overlaid and masked appropriately.

Treehugger ~ Thoreau on my mind.
I conjured up this eco-dandy in Photoshop using the sky, trees, leaf & butterfly images and finished with a couple texture layers to rough him up a bit.

My composition includes the black bird and the hanging portrait using Photoshop

I took the path and added it to the sky. The path leads to the marble head which looks remarkably similar to the woman in white. The woman in white holds a guitar to play for the unknown lost soul.
Mark
This is my attempt to emulate both Jerry and Maggie. I have used 6 of their images and one of my own. The title is "What happens to grumpy old men?". Stay tuned for " Happy old women".
