Lowe's
7801 Tonnelle Avenue, North Bergen, NJ 07047
8 Feet
$20-30
Great price and selection! Prices vary by type of tree. I bought a balsam fir, which has a great shape and smell, and keeps its needles for the month; it's also a breed that is local to our area (like its close relative the Fraser fir). Douglas and noble firs sole by Lowe's cost nearly twice as much. I'm not sure if this is because they are commonly grown on the West Coast and are expensive to transport.
Stand
E48 & 2nd Ave, New York, NY
7 Feet
$130-140
Been buying from same place for the last few years. Last year, slightly smaller tree (girth, not height) was $95. It's a lovely tree this year for sure, but nearly 1 $50 increase? Seems rich.
my church
Hollywood, Florida
8 Feet
$70-80
I.know you were looking for local info, I.just wanted to put my two cents in. Our Catholic church sells.the trees as a fundraiser for our grade school. Everyone volunteers to help sell and 100% of the profits go to the school. The trees are beautiful and I feel very good about spending the money there.
Greg's Holiday Center (sidewalk stand)
Driggs and Manhattan Ave. in Greenpoint, Brooklyn
5 Feet
$70-80
I feel I paid a bit much. I think a "good" price would have been around $60.
Stew Leonard's
1 Stew Leonard Drive - Yonkers, NY 10710
7 Feet
$30-40
I'm pleased with the price and quality of my christmas tree. The tree I bought last year from Stew Leonard's lasted a month before drying out.
94 Deli
94th St. and Amsterdam Ave, NY, NY
7 Feet
$20-30
This deli has a section of large balsams on its 94th St. side that are all $30. They aren't perfectly shaped and I couldn't swear to their freshness, but once you find their best side and cover them with ornaments, they look great—and they smell great. We visit family for the week of Christmas anyway, so if we couldn't get this kind of a bargain, I'm not sure we'd have a tree here at home.
stand
444 Clinton Ave
7 Feet
$60-70
Yes, I think it was fair. They ship the trees down from Vermont, and you can tell they're fresh. We've had ours for a week and the tree seems really healthy.

I have bought from the same place for 5 years - nice folks from Canada. The price hasn't changed...
Stand
9th St between 5th and 6th Ave in Brooklyn
6 Feet
$70-80
I get my trees here every year in part because I don't have a car and it's close to where I live. I thnk that they are expensive, but they are super fresh and easily last the season.
Whole Foods
905 River Rd, Edgewater, NJ 07020
7 Feet
$50-60
The trees are 7-8' each and all priced at $50 (comes to slightly over $53 with tax). They sliced the bottom off the tree for us (just so it will take water) and we carried it a couple blocks home.
For each of the trees that is purchased, 5 are planted. The tree is very well shaped and the tree we got last year (same place/price) was also well shaped. I think the price is fair, growing trees takes years, land, and luck. They are subject to disease and pests and if any part of the tree is damaged, nobody will want it for their house.
That said, $50 is about as much as I am willing to pay for a tree.
Stand
118 2nd Ave Brooklyn NY, 11215 (Lowe's parking lot)
6 Feet
$60-70
I feel the price was fair, maybe a little too expensive.
Sickles Farm
1 Harrison Ave, Little Silver, NJ 07739
8 Feet
$80-90
Fair price for a very fresh tree. I probably could find one for less but I am able to spray my tree with Wilt Pruf before bringing it home. This bit of convenience is worth a bit more in price.
Glenwild Garden Center
104 Glenwild Avenue, Bloomingdale, NJ 07403
9 Feet
$80-90
It was a a fair price considering it was a Fraser Fir, and it's beautiful! The service here is wonderful and the place has that great old fashioned atmosphere I love. I guess there is the cost of shipping and handling, and the growing of course. These permanent garden shops have overhead like taxes to pay too. This spot is worth the drive if you have a car--about 1 hour drive from the Lincoln Tunnel.
stand
Sixth Ave and Bedford St, New York, NY
8 Feet
$20-30
This was the best price for a tree I have paid in over 30 years. Most of the trees in Greenwich Village usually start at $100. I don't know how this stand does it, but it is the best tree ever, full and aromatic.
Maple Row Tree Farm
Easton, CT
6 Feet
$60-70
I keep the receipts every year on my refrigerator (they make me happy and they are pretty.) Three years ago, the trees were $60.00, this year $65.00. It is a farmer's crop - expenses are up everywhere. For a luxury item, I consider this a good deal.
