The future of casinos in the New York City area

A New York state gaming commission is set to award up to three downstate casino licenses by the end of the year. And now, the number of active proposals is down to 6, after two proposed Manhattan casinos were rejected by local advisory committees this week. One was proposed for Times Square, the other for Hudson Yards.

With more committee votes expected by the end of this month, WNYC's Arun Venugopal joins Weekend Edition host David Furst with the latest.
