Jonathan Capehart
Jonathan Capehart is a member of the Washington Post's Editorial Board. He writes for the Post's PostPartisan Blog, is a contributor to MSNBC, and guest hosted on Monday, January 12.Â
Jonathan was also a guest host back in April. He discussed inequality in South Africa, talked to former U.S. Representative Barney Frank, and hosted our first Please Explain all about Drag. Listen to the entire episode here.Â

Fisher Stevens
Fisher Stevens is an acclaimed actor, director, producer, and writer. In 2010, he received an Academy award for Best documentary for his film The Cove. He was a guest host on the show on Tuesday, January 13.Â
Anna Sale
Anna Sale is the host of WNYC's Death, Sex, and Money, a podcast about the big questions and hard choices that are often left out of polite conversation. She is filling in for Leonard on Wednesday, January 14
She is also our guest host on Thursday January 15
Anna is no stranger to the host's chair. She hosted the show this time last year, where she discussed selling guns on Reddit and "Green Porno," as well as teaching a death class and Pussy Riot.
Martha Plimpton

Martha Plimpton is a multifaceted actor. She rose to prominence with her role in The Goonies, shone in her roles on Broadway in A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Glass Menagerie, and Uncle Vanya, and earned an Emmy for her role in Raising Hope.
She was a guest host on Friday, January 16. Among other things, she taught us a thing or two about acting!Â
Martha was a guest host on our show back in 2013. On July 10, we talked about abortion access with Slate's Amanda Marcotte and discussed the great David Rakoff with Ira Glass. On July 11, we discussed California's Proposition 8, talked to Lucy Wainwright, and dove into Strippers, Showgirls, and Sharks.
In 2011, Martha talked to Leonard about her role on the show Raising Hope.
Aasif Mandvi
Aasif Mandvi is an actor and comedian who has been a regular correspondent on The Daily Show since 2007. He has appeared on a variety of television shows, and was the lead in Ayad Akhtar's play Disgraced. He will be guest hosting on Monday, January 19 and Tuesday January 20.Â
Aasif was on the show in 2012 to talk about his role in Disgraced, and back in November of 2014 to talk about his new book No Land's Man.Â
Andy Borowitz
Andy Borowitz is a New York Times bestselling author and comedian, the creator of The Borowitz Report, and contributor to The New Yorker. He will be guest hosting on Wednesday, January 21.
He was a guest host on April 23, where he spoke to Michael Lewis about high frequency trading, and April 24, when we learned about experiments using hallucinogenic drugs to help cancer patients come to terms with their mortality. Leonard also spoke to Andy in 2012 about his memoir, An Unexpected Twist.
Joy Behar
The outspoken Joy Behar, the actor, comedian, and writer, will be guest hosting on Thursday, January 22. She was the host of The Joy Behar Show in 2009, and was one of the original panel members of The View on ABC. Hosting is in her blood!
Leonard spoke to Joy back in December about her solo performance "Me, My Mouth, & I"Â and in 2009 to discuss her work on The View.Â
Manoush Zomorodi

Manoush Zomorodi, the host of the WNYC podcast New Tech City, will be guest hosting on Friday, January 23. New Tech City is embarking on a great campaign to get people to pay attention to how often they use their smartphones. It's called Bored and Brilliant. Next week, The Leonard Lopate Show will be joining in, talking to various guests about their own relationship with their phones, and how that may be taking a toll on their attention span.
