Listener Challenge: Photo Remix

Jerry Uelsmann and Maggie Taylor have made distinguished careers out of manipulating images: he's an old-school darkroom guy, while she's embraced the computer. For this challenge, they provided ten images for you to remix into an original composition.

Title: Death of Music

I put the images together by intuition. What feels right gets manipulated into a dreamlike or nightmarish scenario. I always have music on while I'm working, so to have the music die would, to me, be the death of art itself.

Photographed this on my morning walk. It's put a bit of a damper on my day.

I incorporated both the Girl in a White Dress and the Crow into a dreamscape of other birds symbolizing things fleeting and untouchable. The beating of wings forms a language that the woman in white shares, the language of the unconscious and the primal world. The open door of the bird cage invites access to this mystery and also shows the way to freedom.

The title is,"Dreaming of Barry O'Bonga's
Health Care."

I believe the title says it all.

Hail to the Choom Gang.

I incorporated the images Maggie offered of both the "girl in a white dress" and the "crow" into a composition of other birds and an open birdcage, creating a dreamscape in which the birds symbolize something fleeting and untouchable, the beating of their wings is a language that the women in white share in their mysterious unconscious relationship with each other and the primal world of the birds. The open door of the birdcage invites access to this conversation and symbolises freedom.

Its just a picture of the beach all dark with a couple to the left with a pet crow. The sand has a hand sticking out of it with a butterfly at its finger tip. Lastly, the picture concludes with leaves falling from the sky.
