Jerry Uelsmann and Maggie Taylor have made distinguished careers out of manipulating images: he's an old-school darkroom guy, while she's embraced the computer. For this challenge, they provided ten images for you to remix into an original composition.
Although abandoned, this empty room is home for the ghost visible through the open window. The butterflies announcing her arrival suggest a sort of rebirth underway.

My first idea was to put the wings on the guitar. Then, I wanted a story. So, I added the woman letting go of the guitarfly. She is content letting it go.

This was made mostly from the images provided. This was a lot of fun, and I'm a huge fan of both Maggie and Jerry. Thanks

Zombies are really popular right now, and I wanted to reflect that wave in this bucolic photo of the zombie apocalypse. In prior days this road was one for pleasant afternoon walks, but now it is a very dangerous site. There is no telling what will come out of the woods.

This pictures symbolizes that not everything is as it seems. Through the looking glass, you will find an unexpected meadow and a sight full of wonder.
Miranda
This photo shows hope and progress as a person pedals along towards the future.

Every sixteen years a little girl breaks out of her cocoon, grows her wings, and flies with the butterflies.

This is a creation of my own, symbolizing letting go of something you care about. Events become memories and friends become strangers. I used four of the ten images that were provided and manipulated the opacity to create a fading, disappearing effect.

For my creation I used four of the ten images that were provided for us to use and converted them into a very different and quirky style. I blended space with the ocean to create an effect that made the girl feel like she was in a different dimension. This image I created says that not everyone is the same, but unique in their own weird way.

I choose to make my basic picture a pair of sunglasses because I love sunglasses. To me sunglasses are like windows that can hide emotions behind them. Mine isn’t as creative as the others and quiet plain but it expresses who I am. The sunlight shining in on the glasses and the scenery in the background portray the pure beauty of life and the sunglasses itself, how life holds a sea of mystery and secret behind it. I choose the hand to incorporate in the photo to pull together the overall piece and give the sense of an unusual, eerie, mysterious feel.
Dia
Everything in this picture is coming towards the man because he is the attention of the photo.

I simply cut the blank spots surrounding the butterfly and lady using Photoshop, then put the trees layer in the back, then put the butterfly in the center, and put the lady in front, making it look like she has wings.

I used my image in my audition to gibbs academy of the arts. IT shows how much one image can look in so many perspectives.

A work of art isn’t just a picture you draw, a masterpiece you create, or a picture you edit. A work of art is a story, a story that lies in the creation itself. Just like here in this picture, this creation, I’ve made. It indicates two worlds. One showing the making of a handmade natural world, and the other comparing the one was already here. I’ve designed a photo of the natural world indicating its real life position and its full meaning in a story told through photography.

Reminding me of my old childhood home, this confused musician is returning to her home to find that it was run down, and not well taken care of. Although it wasn't in good condition, the memories remained in her mind eternally.

My submission is about how a girl was taking her dog on a walk but unfortunately lost hold of him and now she must chase him through the spooky path.

This is a beautiful scene of an autumn day. I use to live out in Tennesse, where i would wake up in the morning to the sound of animals and seeing the colorful leaves. I miss it and i decided to make my creation about it.
Brett
To me this picture has alot of emotion to it. I see it as thoughts in the sky.

the smoking butterfly represents the beauty both women used to have, but now it's just smoke.
