I put tire chains on my old truck and drove through a foot of snow into the forest to find the perfect tree. The cost was our time and fuel for the truck. I cut the tree with a hand saw and we got a second hand tree stand from the Good Karma thrift store in Hood River. A christmas tree for less than $20? If you live in Florida, go get a palm tree.

I clicked the box for $20-$30, but I actually got the tree for free. After the holidays, Starbucks will either throw all of their decorations away, or (if you ask nicely enough) they will let customers have them. It is tall and skinny, perfect for an apartment, and made of heavy duty plastic and metal, perfect for holding heavy ornaments (unlike a lot of fake trees that only hold light-weight ornaments). The "needles" are sharper than a typical fake tree, but I don't have to worry about injuries due to exuberant toddlers - my son is older. I would guess that the tree was not cheap to make, it is a very well made tree, and it is a shame that Starbucks throws their decorations away rather than donating them, but I will keep asking for the after holiday swag for as long as they keep saying yes. I have been getting post holiday deco from them for 10 years now, all free. Seriously good quality decorations.

Yes, I think the price was fair. They were having a 50% off sale (for $29.95), but I think that $60 for a tree is excessive. I think the cost of labor and transportation are factored into the cost, but here in NYC there is always a very hefty markup on Christmas trees (and everything else!).

My family and I spent a late afternoon picking our tree from 5000 in a field of gorgeous perfect trees. Cut it down our selves and then the owners come by with a small tractor and take it to a netting area. Best value for an afternoon in a gorgeous country setting for only $47.

Felt price was fair for the quality of the tree.

I like a full and fresh tree. I prefer to buy local from an individual farm. This is a repeat purchase and I plan to return in future years for my tree. Great small family farm with excellent and friendly service. Trees last through season.

No, but they are shipped in from Oregon and we have no other choice. Local spruce do not work for indoor trees; they are frozen by now and kind of ugly.
