I have no idea if I got a fair price for my tree. I always buy my trees from local small businesses. There are large box stores near by where I can get a tree for half the price and every year I really want to because I hate spending so much for something that has such a short shelf life. But in the end I reluctantly pass my credit card to the cashier and feel like I'm helping my community.

We know the person who owns the stand. We told him we our tree budget is 40$. He let us choose any tree in the lot! We choose one that normally cost 58.99. We are grateful we were able to spend the money locally. Other wise we would have bought one from a big box grocery store for less.

Yes. Fair price. Could have paid less from a big-box store, but happy to support local businesses where the employees recognize me each year.

My boys are both taller than the tree by over a foot. We've had it since they were babies. We still lovingly adorn it with treasured, simple ornaments. Its not the tree, people, its the love. Stop buying crap, and break bread together. What has happened to Christmas??

Fraser fir. Beautiful shape. I would have liked to pay less but this stand supports a family farm and I'm happy to keep my money in the local economy.

Yes, I thought this was a fair price. We were able to support a local farm stand which purchases trees from local farmers. Considering substandard trees sold at the local Home Depot or roadside stands cost around $40, we thought $50 for a beautiful tree with a good pedigree was a fair price.

We don't buy a tree. We can't stand the idea of the waste and instead utilize a potted plant in our home and decorate it. We've considered buying an artificial tree, but don't want to store it. Our kids (ages 5 and 8) have never complained about it, so we see no reason to change it (not that we would anyway!)

I know tree permits are available to the public for $10 each in Cedar City, UT. So the $25 I paid is pretty reasonable considering time, gas and labor to cut the trees.

Love my tree. Paid $5/foot for a 9' Grand Fir. We usually cut our own - Christmas tree farms abound in Oregon! - but this year opted to support our church's Christmas tree fundraiser. Our tree is beautiful, fresh and fragrant. Bonus: My husband didn't have to lay on the cold, hard, usually muddy ground, often in the rain, with his handsaw (our MO when we cut our own).

It was our first time buying here and was told by neighbors that the price would be less. I was willing to pay the price since it is a local resident's business. He seemed like an honest guy.
I don't know much about what goes into the cost of a tree. Labor for harvest and transport costs? The tree care while growing can't be that much and the land owner gets a tax break.
The Frazier fir is beautiful!
