Head underground (or to an elevated track!) and snap a subway picture, then submit it here. Legendary photographer Bruce Davidson will take a look at your submissions, and we'll feature some of our favorites online and on-air. Deadline for submission is 11:59pm on Sunday, October 16th. Please don't submit more than 3 photographs!

Who needs a roller coaster when you can take an elevated subway? This photo was taken from the first car of the 7 train, which is always fun for kids, big and small.

In 1974 I was on my way to work when I saw these two artists transporting their oil painting on the GG line going uptown to deliver it to a gallery.
A strange site on the subway

Took this photograph 1974 on my way to work. People did not feel safe on the subways and saw the fear in this man's eyes. Always on the alert.
Herb Bardavid:
I have been photographing on the NYC subways since 1972 when it was not legal to photograph. The laws did not change until the early 1980s. I carried my camera with me on my commute to work from downtown Brooklyn to West 27th Street in NYC.
Here is a shot on the CC Local, a line that no longer exists. In those days all the local lines had double letters, such as the GG or the EE.

"Expressions": This was not taken in New York but in the London Underground. I was interested by the expression of the lady in the centre and wanted to take the photo from a low angle as she was looking upwards. I shot it from the hip level, sitting down.
The shot encompasses a part of the ethnic variety of London, just like any other big city. In this way, the photo relates to NYC.

'One second seduction', was taken a year ago in the subways of not New York, but Budapest, Hungary. To me this 1-second meeting of the eyes, captures the spirit at the time, the youth riding these 40 yr old subways...
