That having a coca-cola at dinner to get me through the evening makes it harder to fall asleep and stay asleep. That most nights I sleep pretty well -- at least for the duration of this project...

:

I have spent years trying to get myself to go to bed earlier to no avail. Keeping track has not had any impact, and I have not been successful at getting to bed earlier. I think it is because the kids go to bed later and later and I don't really have that wind down time until they are out of the way.

I am more aware of this as an issue for me and thinking of this ways to improve my current pattern.

:

I am sleeping less than I know I need to sleep. Although I sometimes can maintain 7 hours, stress is keeping me from having more control over this.

Feel more intentional and focused on healthy sleep. After a few months through the winter of sleeping less than 5 hours a night including waking up mid night for 2-3 hours, have been happily sleeping the whole of the night while with the sleep project... huge yeah!

:

Need more sleep- am happier when I get to sleep earlier in the eve...

:

Get to bed earlier-exercising good, afternoon coffee not needed... do not linger in bed and press snooze... get up and get moving!

Am a hawk with watching my sleep charts... thank you for the focus...

:

I really can't figure out why sometimes I do not get good quality sleep. But I have realized when I am worried about something, it does effect my sleep.

I have always had problems with insomnia. For some reason, tracking it makes me realize how much of it I have.

:

That I don't sleep as much as I'd like; even with conforming to more or less same wake up and bed time. I may try giving myself a shorter overall sleep time and see if that cuts out some of the mid-night awakenings

:

Not yet but I'm going to try to minimize use of screentime before bedtime and when waking up in middle of the night. Thanks.

They are fairly stable; the only way to get more sleep is to stay in bed after waking up and hoping to fall asleep again. However, I will try going to bed earlier in the future to see if that helps.

:

Not yet. I wanted to get a decent baseline first, and started late in the process.

Yes, before I started tracking my sleep, I was having trouble sleeping. I would often wake in the middle of the night and be awake for some length of time. Oddly, this has not happened since I started tracking my sleep. I do not know if the tracking has anything to do with this.

:

My sleep patterns are fairly regular, but I knew this. I have three small kids and I know I need to get to bed so I can get up and exercise before I need to get them going for the day.

:

Not really.

I get less sleep than I thought I did! I go to bed later than I expect to. Also, I wake up almost every night.

:

Yes. I am messing around on the internet less so that I go to sleep earlier.

My habit has been that when I wake up in the night ( which I do most nights) to turn to my ipad and read the NY Times or some other on line magazine. Without my ipad in the bedroom, I have been turning over and going back to sleep more quickly.

:

My natural wake up time is about 5:30. I have been getting out of bed when I awake early and not trying to sleep more.

:

I have been able to go to sleep earlier. Since I have not been checking my emails in bed, i go to sleep more quickly.

I've been waking up a little earlier each day, except for rainy days. I'm guessing this has to do with the sun coming up earlier and earlier each day. It will be interesting to see how this changes in the fall.

:

I've been trying to go to bed at the same time each night.

I am not sure if I am sleeping more or less, but I think I am sleeping better. I am certainly paying more attention to how well I sleep and feel I am able to improve it.

:

It confirmed my sense that if I sleep long one night I am apt to sleep for a shorter period the next. My sleep pattern is wavy, not straight. What I never considered before was the efficiency of my sleep, and I seem to do better on that measure than I was aware of.

:

If I wake up during the night and have difficulty getting back to sleep I try harder to employ techniques that I have learned will help me clear my mind and get back to sleep. I am less likely to give in to being awake. I guess I have also learned that I do have some control over the efficiency of my sleep.
