The Stakes: 'Giving Birth While Black'

WNYC’s Veralyn Williams talks about her reporting for the new podcast, The Stakes. The episode is titled “Giving Birth While Black” and looks at the massive disparity between mortality rates for white and black mothers and babies. She is joined by Linda Villarosa, a former executive editor of Essence and former editor and contributing reporter for The New York Times who published an investigation last year in the Times titled, “Why America’s Black mothers and Babies are in a Life-or-Death Crisis.”
