Now That It's The Only Sound They Hear, New Yorkers Are Complaining About Their Neighbors

WNYC News | Apr 24, 2020

New York City will always be the city that never sleeps or shuts up. But with most New Yorkers abiding by stay-at-home orders, many have become hyper-focused on the sounds they are hearing at home from upstairs and downstairs neighbors.

For example, Anthony Rivieccio, who lives in the Bronx, says he's been hearing sounds that are hard to ignore. "For some reason, they like to make love when they are listening to music..current disco music," he says with exasperation. But other apartment dwellers are getting performances ready for the stage when it re-opens.

WNYC's Emily Lang checked-in with some New Yorkers to see which sounds are being enjoyed...and which are not.
