Is Eggless Mayo Really Mayonnaise?

This August, the Food and Drug Administration wrote a letter to Hampton Creek Foods Inc., the company behind the vegan mayonnaise brand Just Mayo. The FDA claimed that Hampton Creek's usage of the word "mayo" was misleading, since their product did not contain eggs. Managing culinary director of Serious Eats J. Kenji López-Alt spars with guest host Dan Pashman in a once-and-for-all debate over whether or not vegan mayo should actually be considered mayonnaise.
