This week, in celebration of some of the longest nights of the year, Q2 Music is exploring music about the stars, planets, celestial bodies and other glittery, wintry nighttime things.

Works by Claudio Monteverdi, Franz Liszt, Sergei Rachmaninoff, William Dawson and Arvo Part, among others are the focus of this show celebrating the story of Christmas.

Though my family is technically Jewish, I grew up singing Christmas carols. Monday's program celebrates the advent and the coming new year in a decidedly non-non-denominational spirit.
