HOW TO ENTER: No purchase or pledge necessary.  Entries may be made by calling the WNYC pledge line at 1-888-376-9692 or going to WNYC.org between the hours of  4pm on Tuesday, May 17th, 2011 and 12noon on Wednesday, May 25th 2011 Eastern Standard Time. Respondents to the WNYC Incredible Shrinking Pledge Drive Campaign, the WQXR May 2011 Buyback Campaign, WQXR May 2011 Pledge Drive, and WNYC and WQXR Monthly Sustainers are automatically entered into the giveaway.

ELIGIBILITY:  Anyone 18 years of age or older can enter the WNYC Paris Giveaway except employees of WNYC and its related organizations, their immediate family or persons living in the same household.  Void where prohibited by law.

PRIZE:  Trip for two: Roundtrip airfare from NYC to Paris, France and 5-night stay in Paris.

This Paris Contest Giveaway includes:

  • 5 nights at a LUMEN Paris Louvre in Paris, France.

This Paris Giveaway Contest does not include:
Visa fees, airport departure taxes, excess baggage fees.

Ground transportation, meals, in-room charges (e.g. mini-bar, movies), telephone calls, gratuities, incidentals and all other expenses.

Airline ticket value: $850 per person

5 night hotel value: up to $400 euro per night/ $2865 U.S dollars total

Total value: $4,465

SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF WINNER:  One winner and three back up names will be selected by random drawing no later than June, 17th, 2011. Winner will be notified by telephone or mail.  If the winner is unable to collect their prize, the unawarded prize will go to the first back-up and subsequent back-ups thereof until prize is awarded.  Winner must provide their social security number.  Prize will be shipped by mail. The chances of winning are dependent upon the number of entries. A list of the winner’s name will be kept on file at New York Public Radio and are available by writing to New York Public Radio Listener Services, 160 Varick Street, New York, NY 10013.

GENERAL:  WYNC is the sole sponsor of this contest.  By participating in the WNYC Paris Giveaway, participants agree to the Official Rules, and that WNYC and Tablet Inc., its agents and employees will have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind resulting from their use of the prize or their participation in the give-away. Prize is nontransferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. There can be no substitutions for a prize of equal or greater value. WNYC Radio may use winner’s name for publicity purposes without further compensation.  Income taxes and expenses as a result of winning this prize are the responsibility of the winner. Winner will receive a 1099 with the above stated value at year-end.

Hotel bookings are subject to availability, and hotel stay must be consumed within one year of the day the prizewinner is first notified by WYNC. Any changes made to a reservation after the initial booking will be at the sole expense of the prizewinner; certain restrictions and blackout dates may apply. If the potential winner is unable to visit the hotel or its destination for any reason, including visa restrictions, such potential winner shall forfeit any and all rights to the grand prize. The prizewinner is solely responsible for obtaining all required travel documents. Prizewinner may be required to execute and return a release of liability form prior to reservation of the hotel stay.

RESTRICTIONS:  Restrictions may apply. Dates of travel are subject to availability and black out dates may apply. Once issued tickets are non-transferable. By participating in the WNYC Paris Giveaway, a participant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules, and by all decisions of the contest judges. One entry per person.  Anyone who enters multiple times will be disqualified.
