The name is a nod to the band Africa 70, which was the great Afro-pop band put together by Fela Kuti in Nigeria. On their latest release, Zion80 take on more Jewish-themed music - in this case, Madof’s creative arrangements of 8 tunes from John Zorn’s “Book of Angels” from Masada Book II.
