Elgin James talks about writing and directing “Little Birds.” He’s also discus his journey from the foster care system to homeless teen to gang member to filmmaking. “Little Birds” is semi-autobiographical, and is about two 15-year-old girls who live on the shores of the Salton Sea and test the limits of their friendship when one follows the other in an escape to Los Angeles.
