Took this from my apartment (in Chelsea) on Tuesday, September 9. It appeared to be a test run of the 9/11 Light Memorial. The weather on the actual anniversary two days later was cloudy but Tuesday evening it was spectacular.

I was helping with Polar Bears International climate change webcasts to students, from a Tundra Buggy near Wapusk National Park on the Hudson's Bay. This polar bear appeared after our last webcast, as if to punctuate the notion that only individual energy conservation efforts can save her sea ice habitat!

Wixon Pond in Mahopac was and might still be, considered the cleanest body of water in New York State. I took this picture in early December 2014.
