Do you think he knows? I went out to see the turkeys right before we killed them before Thanksgiving this year. This tom came up to say hello.

Where Brooklyn at? I was biking to work in East River Park and I could not see Brooklyn or half of the Williamsburg Bridge. I took a few pics, but like this one because there is another biker in the frame.

Everyone said, if you go to the Grand Canyon, get up to watch the sunrise. It was stunning. After a while, I heard the clack clack clacking of a goat walking across the short stone wall at the South Rim. Then it took off running. I turned quickly, crossed my fingers, and caught the goat in mid-stride. What a beautiful animal.

Brye Canyon, UT, summer 2013. Hard to miss with Bryce Canyon--the colors are naturally extraordinary. I like this photo because the canyon walls look like giant elders watching over the tiny people below.

I took this photo in March while exploring the FDR Four Freedoms Park with my friend. While she was squatting to take her picture, I noticed the row of trees which seemed to stretch into infinity and snapped this shot. The trees, the clouds, the bridge, everything just came together in this one.

I sat down in a nearly empty LIRR car on the way from Speonk to NYC. The geometry of the valley down the middle of the seats is very pleasing to the eye.

This was taken while approaching the Holland Tunnel from New Jersey at sundown. The traffic congestion was bad, the colors were brilliant

The photo was taken on Nov. 4, 2013 when I was visiting Nanjing University, China during my sabbatical. This is a express service site on campus for students picking and/or sending off packages. They are the strongest competitors for UPS.

I took the photo on Nov. 5, 2013 when I was visiting Nanjing University in China during my sabbatical. It is the graduate students dorm. Every sunny day, when I passed the building, I would see that the balconies were covered with quilts. The sun is still Nature's best gift for its shine and warmth.

My friend convinced me to wait in line for the David Zwirner Gallery's exhibit for Yayoi Kusama the last Saturday of it in our little snowstorm. So I had schlepped down to Chelsea at 9am on a Saturday in the snow...and the line was 3 hours. We couldn't handle the wait, but the snowflakes were amazing! This perfect specimen landed right on my friend's button.

Some friends and I went out to cheer on the Marathon runners on 4th Ave in Brooklyn, and decided that instead of just sticking our hands out for high fives, we'd put a cardboard hand on a long stick.

There was no real logic behind it and we didn't think it would be that big of a deal but the runners reacted to the hand on a stick like we were handing out jetpacks. They'd start laughing from several yards away, stop to take photos, and cut across lanes of other runners to jump up and slap it. We ended up being out there for hours because it was such an unexpectedly awesome time.

(You meant noon PT, right?:)

Living in NYC for the past seven years, I've grown immune to claims that something is a "must-see." I've just been let down way too many times.

I happened to be on the upper east side last January killing time as I waited for a friend, when I remembered that an artist friend of mine (who is also hype-averse) had mentioned the Event of a Thread and described it as magical. So I made my way over to the armory, was greeted with this scene, and was totally stunned. The whole thing just felt like this playful, dark, majestic gift to the city.

Who knew? Louis Chevorlet reportedly lived on Park Ave., Plainfield, NJ in the 1920s and 30s, where he served as chief engineer of Plainfield, NJ's assembly of "The American Six." He subsequently moved to Detroit, you may have heard of him. I only learned this the day that assembly plant burned down, in July, 2013.( View from the Watchung Mountains.)

I love walking along the Brooklyn water front, and each time brings something new and special. I was blown away with some ominous storm clouds coming in. Coupled with the tremendous light, it looks like a sci-fi film, without using any effects just snapping the pic at the right moment.

I took this picture very recently, on a freakishly warm winter's day. I went for a walk outdoors after just having completed a medical treatment that left me feeling quite sick. Being on the good side of recovery, I felt it was a beautiful gift to remind me of all the wonderful things that lie ahead.

A winter day. A woman stopped to capture the warmth of the sun. My cell camera with max exposure compensation could not overcome the high contrast situation producing the white silhouette.
