Battle of the High School Bards: How to Submit Your Audio

We’re looking for great poetry from high school students, and at the end of the summer, poet Dorothea Lasky will name a winner on our show. Your assignment: Write a poem on the theme of summer. Your poem can be rhymed, free verse, blank verse, whatever you choose.

The deadline for submissions is Monday, August 18, 2014, 11:59 p.m. ET. 

 UPDATE: Our deadline has passed. We'll reveal a winner on the show the weekend of September 6. Thanks to everyone who submitted their work! 

HOW TO ENTER:

→ STEP 1: Record your poem.

 

→ STEP 2: Upload the audio file.
You can upload multiple submissions.

Send us your poemsIn the description for your recording, make sure to tell us:

   • The title of your poem
   • Your age

We will contact you through SoundCloud to confirm your parent or guardian’s permission in case we want to post your recording on our site or on social media, or broadcast it on the air.

 

THE RULES:

By uploading your recording, you are representing to us that:

   • It is your original work
   • You are over 13
   • You understand that when you submit your poem it will appear publicly on the SoundCloud website along with your username and your age

You need to have a SoundCloud account in order to upload audio so you must also follow the SoundCloud Terms of Use.
