YOB at Saint Vitus Bar
Feb. 20-23, 7PM. $30.98 / $94.56 for a four-night pass
YOB is a doom metal band from Oregon, but they’re somewhat less doom-y than most similar bands. With titles like “Beauty In Falling Leaves” or “In Reverie,” YOB makes songs that yearn for something better. This song, “Marrow,” which talks about needing to find that “One true moment,” even features some choral vocals, Hammond organ, and pensive guitars. YOB finishes up a four night run at St Vitus on Wed., Feb. 23. Unrepentant fans of the space rock band Hawkwind – you know who you are – will want to check out opening act Ecstatic Vision as well. ["YOB is Love." No, really, that is their Bandcamp url. - Caryn Havlik]
