WNYC's Public Song Project at Joe's Pub
Jan. 8. 7pm. $30.
With Moontripp, Juliette Reilly, Joanna Sternberg, Mal Petty, and DJ Rekha.

Every year, a whole new bunch of songs go out of copyright and enter the Public Domain. With WNYC celebrating its centennial last year, our colleagues at All Of It got the bright idea of getting musicians to do their own, contemporary takes on some of those old songs. In addition to a stellar group of pros, this Public Song Project was also open to, well, the public, and a group of us were enlisted to pick winners from those submissions. The three winners will perform their songs, including Moontripp, who offered a new twist on Irving Berlin’s “What’ll I Do.” Moontripp, Juliette Reilly, Joanna Sternberg, and Mal Petty join DJ Rekha in reanimating century old songs on Jan. 8 at Joe’s Pub.

Be alert for scams. WNYC never asks for nor accepts money for coverage or interviews. Anyone making such a request does not represent WNYC.
