'Westchester Was Ground Zero': Suburban Segregation Enters The Presidential Race

During an interview on Fox News with Laura Ingraham, President Trump argued he had saved the nation from a Democratic scheme to desegregate the suburbs.

"They were trying to destroy the suburban, beautiful... the American dream, really. They want low-income housing, and with that comes a lot of other problems, including crime."

Ground zero for these efforts, he argued: Westchester County. 

Since passage of the 1968 Fair Housing Act, racial segregation has plagued suburbs across the country, but it's in Westchester where the debate over federal intervention has become especially pronounced. How much is enough?
