Be it Frightful or Delightful, Here's How the Weather Affects Four New Yorkers

The weather affects just about everyone on a daily basis. For some, knowing whether to grab an umbrella or shed a layer is enough. But for a lot of people, the weather can actually dictate how the work day will go -- and even how they make a living.

WNYC brings you the daily forecast and conditions, but we wanted to know how the weather directly affects your work day. We asked you to send us your stories -- and we're still looking for more. Tell us how the weather affects your job using the form at the bottom of this page.

Here are four folks who answered our call.

David Lawson hands out flyers in Times Square. "If it rains or snows we don't work that day and I'm not compensated."

Maeve Turner tends to the herb garden at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. "Right now I have a lot of really delicious tomatoes -- just pop them in your mouth and it's sweet summer. Then I have some golden raspberries that are pretty perfect right now."

Christine Facella works in her Brooklyn ceramics studio. "We've gone home with heat stroke. We fire the pieces to about 2,200 degrees so a few years ago I think we were in the 100's and still firing and we didn't come in for a couple days because we got sick."
