"We miss him every day." A co-founder of Families for Safe Streets on loss, grief, and her push for change

It's been ten years since New York City began rolling out its Vision Zero street safety program.

One thing the initiative did was lower the default speed limits for most streets in the city.

But that change came too late for many people—among them, 12 year old Sammy Cohen Eckstein. His mother, Amy Cohen, is the co-founder of Families for Safe Streets. She spoke with WNYC's Community Partnerships desk about her loss, and her push for change.
