The Vijay Iyer Trio is built around the pianist’s own compositions, but his trio includes two musical powerhouses: bass player Linda May-Han Oh and drummer Tyshawn Sorey, both composers themselves, and unsurprisingly, they have a big impact on the final sound. Iyer’s trio has released an album called Uneasy, a collection of works about our own uncertain times. The Vijay Iyer Trio plays Tuesday through Sunday, Jan. 25-30 at the Village Vanguard.
