Singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and author Valerie June is from just outside Memphis, but she draws on a wide spectrum of American music – soul, gospel, blues, folk, old time rock n roll, psychedelia. Her latest album is called Owls, Omens and Oracles (due out April 11), and it is a good example of Valerie June meeting the moment. When the world seems like one big dumpster fire, how do you react? Her song, “Endless Tree,” asks us to remember that we’re all connected, and this performance is from her live set in-studio, part of the latest edition of our Soundcheck Podcast.
