Two Schools In the Basement Were Relocated. Staff And Families Say They Don't Ever Want To Go Back.

A large high school building on the Upper West Side did not open to students last week. That’s because it has had chronic issues with air ventilation for years. The MLK Junior Educational Campus has floor-to-ceiling windows that don’t open — and two of the six schools have no windows at all because they’re in the basement. Staff and parents from these two schools say they don’t think it’ll ever be safe to go back.
