The National Parks, 'Helsinki'

WNYC | Jan 14, 2015

The National Parks is a band from Utah, but place was so important to this song that they had a crew shoot this film in Finland to capture just the right feel. There's a tension in that opening guitar line that adds a bit of mystery to the video, in which a father (played by Finnish actor Antti Luusuaniemi) walks into a still-dark bedroom to wake up his young son. But after that ominous start this video fills with sweetness and wonder.

The National Parks has been together only since the top of 2013. They have one record, which you can find on Bandcamp — this song, "Helsinki," is the opening track. They are working on a new record and will let fans have a look behind the scenes of the making of that record. Information will soon be found on the band's website.
