The Brian Lehrer Show | Jul 15, 2022

On today's show:

  • U.S. Representative Ritchie Torres (D-NY15) talks about the Jan. 6 committee's work, plus issues facing his district.
  • The majority of the New York City Council members are new and are part of a class that is the most diverse and progressive in City history. Over the next year Brian Lehrer will get to know all 51 members. This week, Councilmember Shekar Krishnan talks about his priorities for District 25, which includes the neighborhoods of Elmhurst and Jackson Heights.
  • A New York Times/Siena College survey found that just one percent of voters under 30 strongly approve of the way President Biden is handling his job and that a staggering 94 percent of Democrats in this age said they wanted another candidate to run two years from now. We ask our listeners under 30 to share their thoughts about the aging political leadership within the Democratic Party.
  • As of July 5th, the city has returned to regular alternate-side parking rules. Listeners weigh in on whether they are liking the change after two years of suspension.

Transcripts are posted to each segment as soon as they are available.
