Ten years into Vision Zero, NYC grapples with lack of infrastructure for e-bikes

When New York City implemented Vision Zero a decade ago, the streets looked very different from today. There were fewer bike and bus lanes, and e-bikes and scooters were still relatively sparse on city streets.

Now they're ubiquitous, zipping up and down city streets, too fast and heavy for sidewalks and bike lanes, but vulnerable out in vehicle traffic. 

Tiffany-Ann Taylor is the Vice President of Transportation at the Regional Plan Association. She joined WNYC's Morning Edition host Michael Hill to discuss how e-bikes factor in to the city's Vision Zero aspirations as the initiative turns 10 years old.
