Did you noticed that it’s the holiday season again? And normally, that would mean Nutcrackers everywhere. Not, you know, actual nut crackers but productions of the popular Tchaikovsky ballet. But of course, it’s still 2020 and nothing is normal. So instead, the New York City Ballet is offering its famous George Balanchine production of The Nutcracker online through January 3. For many fans, this is the definitive version of the ballet. Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, as presented by New York City Ballet from their 2019 production, is available as an archived streaming presentation, Dec. 11, 2020 through January 3, 2021.
