It was five years ago that a duo comprised of a folk singer and an electronic music producer burst on the scene. They were called Sylvan Esso, and their distinctive blend of the organic and the electronic won them critical raves and legions of fans. Some of those fans are their fellow musicians, many of whom are joining Sylvan Esso on their current tour. So the live songs will reply less on electronics and more on a big cast of familiar faces. Sylvan Esso and eight guest musicians from other well-known bands will play tonight at the Beacon Theatre.
