Steve Turre and the Eric Reed Quintet at Smoke Jazz Club
Countdown 2023 COLTRANE FESTIVAL
Dec. 28, 7PM. $35 - $55 + $3.10 - $4.10 fee

Smoke Jazz Club is hosting its 10th annual John Coltrane Festival, and all this week the Eric Reed/Vincent Herring Quintet is acting as a kind of house band, with different guest soloists each night. Dec. 28-29 is trombonist Steve Turre’s turn. Turre is a longtime member of the Saturday Night Live band and a guy who’s been known to bring out seashells and play them as musical instruments. He’s been a regular at Smoke over the years, and he plays Dec. 28-29 as part of Smoke Jazz Club’s Countdown to 2023, their 10th annual Coltrane Festival.
