A Solo Performance After a Sixty Year Dancing Career

Carmen de Lavallade talks about her life, career, and the New York premier of her new performance, "As I Remember It." The 83-year-old dancer has spent her six-decade career working with luminaries like Lena Horne, Harry Belafonte, Josephine Baker, Alvin Ailey, and many others. This solo performance combines movement, film, and storytelling, weaving a memoir about her venerable life on stage. "As I Remember It" runs February 19-21 and February 24-25 at the Baryshnikov Arts Center.
