Slavic Soul Party at the NY Gypsy Festival

The 20th annual New York Gypsy Festival runs from Nov. 9-19 at DROM, featuring a culturally diverse lineup of local and international bands but centered on the Roma music of the Balkans, Turkey, Russia, and beyond. Expect soulful ballads and lots of high-energy dances, often in odd rhythms. There are shows Nov. 12-14, as well as Sunday, Nov. 16 and next Tuesday. Brooklyn favorites Slavic Soul Party play on Friday, Nov. 14th’s early show in the 20th annual NY Gypsy Festival. Come early for the Flamenco, stay for the Balkan Brass; a day pass for Friday night also allows you to stay for the late show at 10PM, "Clarinet Mania".
