Sandra Tsing Loh Opens Up On Menopause

WNYC | May 8, 2015

We revisit our September 2014 conversation with writer and comic Sandra Tsing Loh about her book “The Madwoman in the Volvo: My Year of Raging Hormones,” which came out in paperback this week.

As she told Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson, she wrote the book because all of the books she saw on the subject seemed consider menopause as something that could be easily treated. Just reduce alcohol, caffeine and sugar and take lots of walks.

“I sort of was craving a book at that time that would really say how it was, and what it was like going through that… and really lowers the bar,” Loh said.
