That’s Not Tango at Jazz At Lincoln Center’s Appel Room, July 30-31
Tickets: $80-100. Shows at 8 pm.

Astor Piazzolla revolutionized the tango in the second half of the 20th century. Piazzolla died in 1992, but apparently, he still has a story to tell – and a new female voice with which to tell it. Lesley Karsten co-wrote and narrates a musical biography called That’s Not Tango: Astor Piazzolla, A Life in Music. The show’s premise: “Piazzolla’s dead, he hates it and returns because he has unfinished business – with himself.”  Fortunately that business is quite musical…

Astor Piazzolla's life and music are the subject of That’s Not Tango, playing Tuesday and Wednesday nights, July 30-31 at Jazz At Lincoln Center’s Appel Room.
