Rhapsody for This Land: The American Odyssey in Music Live from Brooklyn Bridge Park

Listen to the archive broadcast of "Rhapsody for This Land: The American Odyssey in Music," an outdoor concert broadcast live from beneath the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Gershwin’s exuberant American anthem "Rhapsody in Blue." 

Presented by WNYC, which also recently turned 100, St. Ann’s Warehouse and Brooklyn Bridge Park, and hosted by Terrance McKnight, the concert features classical pianist Lara Downes performing the New York City premiere of her take on Gershwin’s innovative 1924 work in a radical new arrangement by the Puerto Rican composer Edmar Colón. The concert will also feature performances by Christian McBride, Rosanne Cash, Arturo O’Farrill, Time for Three, and the Orchestra Elena under Aram Demirjian. "Rhapsody for This Land" celebrates our country’s long history of hope, protest and change.
