NASA scientists have confirmed that there is flowing water on Mars - not just frozen water at the poles, as previously determined by researchers. This discovery could be a potential breakthrough in the search for extraterrestrial life.

Columbia University astrophysics professor Arlin Crotts, also author of The New Moon: Water, Exploration, and Future Habitation (Cambridge University Press, 2014), explains the scientific significance of this discovery.
