Lecture: Kristallnacht

Raul Hilberg is the author of the monumental The Destruction of the European Jews, a seminal work on the Holocaust. Now John G. McCullough Professor of Political Science at the University of Vermont, Hilberg has served on the President's Commission on the Holocaust and the United States Holocaust Memorial Council. Among his other published works are Sonderuge nach Auschwitz and Documents of Destruction: German and Jewry, 1933-1945, which he edited. Raul Hilberg's lecture commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of Kristallnacht when Nazi-orchestrated violence let to the arrest of 30,000 Jews in Germany and Austria.
