The Rapper Wiki Is Growing Up
The New Yorker Radio Hour | Sep 29, 2017
The New Yorker’s night-life editor, Matthew Trammell, started following the rapper Wiki (né Patrick Morales) when the artist was still in high school. His songs explore topics like moving out of his mother’s house, and how growing up means understanding that you’re still immature. Trammell calls Wiki’s music “a mix of punk and noise and U.K. garage,” and describes it as like nothing you’ve heard before. Now Wiki has released his début album on XL, “No Mountains in Manhattan.”
