Questions Remain in Deaths of Prominent New Jersey Couple
New details are emerging from the murder investigation of John and Joyce Sheridan, who were found dead in their Skillman, NJ, home in September 2014.
The Sheridans were prominent Republicans. John Sheridan had advised former governors Tom Kean and Christine Todd Whitman, and he was the CEO of a Camden hospital run by one of the most powerful Democrats in New Jersey.
The couple's sons have been fighting with the local prosecutor over the investigation into their deaths, which concluded that John Sheridan had stabbed his wife to death, set their bedroom on fire and then killed himself.
The family hired Dr. Michael Baden, a prominent forensic psychologist.Â
"The authorities should still be receptive to get any new information that might change it to homicide or suicide, but that as it stands now, there is insufficient evidence and information to state that this is a suicidal death on the part of Mr. Sheridan," he said. Baden said the death should be listed as "undetermined."
In this interview, WNYC's Jami Floyd talks to Baden about his findings.
