It’s hard to pin down the band Punch Brothers. They look like a bluegrass band, with mandolinist and singer Chris Thile leading the way, but the music draws on classical, jazz, rock, and folk music too. Thile, as you may know, took over for Garrison Keillor on the show formerly called A Prairie Home Companion – now called Live From Here. He and the rest of the Punch Brothers have a new album out, but their live sets usually include old favorites too. Punch Brothers play tomorrow night at the Beacon Theater.
