Poverty and Bohemia in Bed-Stuy

Brandon Harris, contributing editor to Filmmaker Magazine, filmmaker and film writer and the author of Making Rent in Bed-Stuy: A Memoir of Trying to Make It in New York City (Amistad, 2017), talks about the history of Brooklyn's largest historically black neighborhood, and trying to make it as an artist in the changing neighborhood. 

Harris is curating a film series of six films that speak to the Bed-Stuy neighborhood, which runs June 9-11, at the Metrograph theater on the LES -- more info here.
