You may be sick of 2020, but the young Chicago rapper Polo G is having a big year. In May he released THE GOAT, which quickly went gold. He recently made his late night debut on The Tonight Show, then played Bonnaroo’s Virtual ROO-ality Festival – with Bruce Hornsby, whose 1986 hit “The Way It Is” forms the basis for Polo’s bracing and poignant song “Wishing For A Hero.” His 2019 album Die A Legend was named in the top spot on Rolling Stone's “20 Best Hip Hop Albums of 2019.” Now Polo G joins Chief Keef, the pioneer of the Chicago rap style known as drill, for a live online concert via Dreamstage on Friday, Oct. 23.
