NYC's Learning Bridges Childcare Program Now Open For Fully-Remote Students

WNYC News | Feb 3, 2021

New York City's Learning Bridges program is run at more than 450 locations. It was originally offered for students in 3K through 8th grade who are enrolled in blended learning in public schools. The goal was to provide supervised childcare for those students on their remote learning days so that their parents and guardians could work. But the vast majority of the Learning Bridges locations are under-enrolled, so the city is opening the program to all fully-remote students who are in 8th grade or younger. Still, priority will go to students whose parents are essential workers or Department of Education staff, those who live in temporary or public housing, as well as students who have disabilities or are in foster care.
