Nick Cave has been through every parent’s worst nightmare – losing a child. In fact, he’s been through it twice. Cave’s music has often tended towards the dark and the gothic, and his previous couple of albums had a bleak beauty to them. But last year he released an album called Wild God that embraced resilience and hope - what Nick Cave calls the “warrior emotions.” With his band The Bad Seeds augmented by a choir and orchestra, it is remarkable, at time ecstatic record that acknowledges darkness but refuses to be defeated by it. Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds play on April 17 at Barclays’ Center.
