New York's Leaders Are Grappling With How To Expand COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility

New York governor Andrew Cuomo recently announced local governments can choose whether to expand COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to restaurant workers, taxi drivers, and people in facilities for those with developmental disabilities.

The decision came after yet another clash between the governor and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio about how vaccines should be allotted.

Dr. Bruce Y. Lee, a professor of health policy and management at the City University of New York. He's also the director of the group Public Health Computational and Operations Research. He spoke to WNYC's Sean Carlson about who decides the groups that receive the vaccine and how.
